IT’S FINALLY READATHON DAY!
It is nice and early here in Chicagoland and I’m getting ready to start my readathon! We’ve got friends coming over in the afternoon for a readathon-party (and then evening of tiki drinks), and I’ve got a big pot of coffee to get me through the next 24 hours.
This is my fourth readathon and I’m especially excited for this one because I’ve been in a little bit of a reading slump. I’ve read some good stuff but nothing that has really captured my attention. The stack I put together for today’s readathon has some really wonderful looking books and I’m hoping one of them will relight my reading fire.
My (as always ambitious) TBR is:
The Devil Crept In // Ania Ahlborn
A Man Called Ove // Fredrik Backman
Say You’re One Of Them // Uwem Akpan
Unbecoming // Rebecca Sherm
Present Value // Sabin Willett
Then We Came To The End // Joshua Ferris
Everybody Rise // Stephanie Clifford
I definitely don’t think I’ll get through all of them, but it’s a nice variety of a stack and I’m excited for my 24 hours of reading.
Now on to my introduction!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Oak Park, IL (right outside of Chicago)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
You know, I don’t have one in particular I am dying to get to. I am looking forward to the Devil Crept In, because I love creepy thrillers, and Everybody Rise, because I am a sucker for rich people problems.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Fruit! I’ve got strawberries, bananas, pears, oranges, and soon to be grapes.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am definitely a morning person, and am more excited about the early mornings of reading than late nights.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my fourth readathon, and I’ve changed my reading each time. This round I’m going to block out some social media time so I can see how everyone else is doing!
I’m off to the reading races! I will be posting periodic updates here (probably every 3 hours) and I’ll be an active poster on Twitter and Instagram. Talk to me, let me know what you’re reading, and happy readathoning!
