Goodreads Challenge:
84/100 books read

Book Riot Read Harder Challenge:
After a bit of a summer hiatus from this challenge, I’m back! I completed two more tasks in August: reading a play (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and reading a historical fiction set before 1900 (The Underground Railroad, which I know also has some very non historical aspects but I still consider it a legit historical novel and also really amazing). I’m up to 15 completed tasks with 9 more to go!

Book of the Month Club Pick:
I’m torn between two books! Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeny (whose book I am STILL dying to read) picked Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue and Liberty Hardy picked The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. I have heard really great things about both these books so I have no idea what I’ll go with next.

All in all, I completed 7 books in August including some really fantastic ones (two 5 stars in one month is rare, even if one of them is Harry Potter which will literally always be 5 stars). It’s a long weekend and I have a bunch of books I got in Austin last weekend so hopefully I can kick of September with a strong book start!

Don’t forget you can read detailed reviews of all the books I read at, and if you have any thoughts about any of the books I’ve read this month tweet me @GameandRead. Also check us out on Instagram and Litsy, both @GameandRead. And until next time, happy reading!
