Week in Review: 5/21/16

Happy Saturday! It’s time for our week in review. Each week we recap our posts and check out some news stories that piqued our interests.

Game & Read posts this week –

Book Con 2016: We went to our first convention! Check out what we did and all the fun that was Book Con 2016

This Week In Bead Sprites:  A short post since we had a busy weekend, but some cool photos this week. Submit your bead sprite photos for next week by emailing gameandread@gmail.com.

New Video: Our first book haul! We received so many new books last week that we had to make a video about it. Book hauls seem pretty standard amongst booky folks, so we gave it a shot.

Game & Read is now on Litsy: We set up our account for the all book social media platform Litsy. Have an account? Follow us!

The Canon: Like Burgers? Hate when fast food tries to murder you? You’ll love this week’s Canon with Burger Time!

#TBT: Do you know my mother? We revisit a classic children’s book about a little bird trying to find his momma.

Now, here’s the news that caught our eye this week –

Batman Gets a Facelift: Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are being remastered and rereleased for PS4 and Xbox One under the name Return to Arkham. The collection comes out July 26. We have played chunks of these games, but never anywhere close to completion, so we are looking forward to this remaster collection as a chance to catch up on a well respected series.

Yo-Kai Sequel is Coming West: Determined to make this thing happen, Level 5’s Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy & Bony will be coming to the 3DS on September 30. We have yet to play Yo-Kai Watch, but it seems clear that the marketing powers that be want Yo-Kai to last in the West.

Woman Authors Sweep Nebula Awards: We love sci-fi, we love fantasy, we love book awards, and we love when women kick ass! Check out the many female winners of the Nebula Awards and their fiction – we’ll be picking up some of these soon!

Don’t forget to follow us on WordPress, Youtube, TwitterInstagram, & Litsy.

Have a happy weekend!
