Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon: Hour 14 Update

It’s almost hour 15 so I’ve got to get my update in before the clock strikes 9:00 p.m. (CST)! I just finished The Gates by John Connolly, and it was absolutely hilarious. Connolly takes the very scary matter of literal Hell on Earth and flips it on its head in the best way. Nurd the Scourge of Five Deities is possibly the best character I’ve read in a while. This was the perfect book to kick off the second half of the readathon for me.

Next I’m going to pick up Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes. It’s one I’ve been looking forward to for a while, so hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!

In non-book news, I’ve eaten a delicious brownie and drank more coffee, as well as participated in more mini-challenges and moved reading spots in this little apartment. After my afternoon naps, I am ready to go!

How’s YOUR readathon going? What are you reading now?

Find me over on Twitter and I’ll be back with another update in a couple hours!
