IT’S READATHON TIME!
Thanks to the All the Books podcast from Book Riot, I found out about the 24 in 48 readathon and promptly signed up. The idea is to read for 24 hours over the weekend; this is the motivation I need to kick some ass this week on my thesis work so I can spend as much of Saturday and Sunday reading. It’s also conveniently MLK Jr. weekend – long weekends rule! – so there was literally no reason not to commit to the 24 in 48 readathon.
It’s short notice but I have, of course, put together a preliminary stack of books to finish. They are as follows:
—A Brief History of Portable Literature // Enrique Vila-Matas
—Blue Like Jazz // Donald Miller
—Jurassic Park // Michael Crichton
—Boy, Snow, Bird // Helen Oyeyemi
—Bingo Under the Crucifix // Laurie Foos
These are just a few I’ve picked off my shelves for the weekend, but I know I’ll have more in my pile by the time Saturday morning comes. I loved the Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon so I am super excited to participate in another readathon so early in 2016!
I’ll be live tweeting my readathon over @EMurch and will post periodic updates here on the blog. Even if you can’t participate, you can follow all the action on Twitter and Instagram with #24in48readathon.
Follow along, join in, and happy reading!
