Hello gamers and readers!
In the online reading world, this Saturday is Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon and I (Erin) will be participating for the first time. I am SUPER PUMPED to spend all day Saturday reading and being one of the hundreds of readers who are part of this readathon. One really cool thing about Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is that it is international and happens during a single 24-hour period. So for us in the U.S. central time the readathon happens from 7:00 a.m. Saturday and 7:00 a.m. Sunday, but the start and end times are different depending on where you are. Thus hundreds of people are reading at the same time all over the world.
I don’t know why I haven’t heard of it or been part of it before, but I signed up this past weekend and am compiling my stack of books to try and get through. I won’t be reading for the entire 24 hours – a little because I have things going on Sunday that I need to be awake for but mostly because I cannot stay up that late any more – but I am hoping to get in at least 12 hours of reading, if not a little more. It’s supposed to be cold here in Chicagoland (high in the 50s) so I can’t wait to snuggle up and read for hours!
I will be posting periodic updates here on the blog as well as on Twitter – you can find me at @EMurch – and I hope you’ll follow along. Peter is planning on doing an unofficial gameathon as well, so keep an eye on his Twitter (@NerdintheWorld) to see how he’s doing.
In other news, we’re recording another video tonight – if you liked “Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon” and/or Rooms, you’ll want to check it out!
If you’re doing the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon or if you want to join Peter in his unofficial gameathon, let us know. We’d love to keep up with you and your thoughts on games, books, and more!
Happy gaming and reading,
Erin & Peter
